Natureworks Overview

Natureworks isn't only about cleaning up your home; it's about a better, smarter, way to clean.

Cleaning can be a chore, but dangerous chemicals and toxins can make it dangerous and a long term health concern. Stinging eyes, burning lungs and headaches are warning signs, not the unfortunate side-effects of a clean home. That's your body telling you, "Stop using this. It is bad for you!" What's even worse is that you are putting your family at risk as well. That's why Natureworks' entire product line is both people and pet friendly, uniquely formulated to quickly clean up messes without harming you or your loved ones.

You may not know it, but if you're using typical household cleaners you are likely using dangerous chemicals. Chemicals that aren't just bad for your home and the environment, but incredibly bad for you and your family as well.

What can you do? You can change! Take a look at the way you're cleaning, and see that unforgiving chemicals and toxins have no place in your home, no place in your body and no place in your cleaning products.

Natureworks is the simple, natural, answer! Our line of home care products are non-toxic, made with naturally derived, biodegradable ingredients that clean like commercial grade cleaners without the toxic downside.

The way we look at it, if your home is chemical free, we all benefit. There's no question as to the advantages of using all natural, environmentally friendly cleaning products and you have selected the best of the best, Natureworks.

Natureworks cleaning products are proudly made in Canada and are Environment Canada EcoLogo® certified meeting stringent environmental regulations.

EcoLogo Certification

When you see the word "natural" on a Natureworks label, it means that 100% of its functional cleaning ingredients - things like soaps, detergents, solvents and enzymes - are either found in nature or derived from natural sources.

We use natural and naturally derived materials from renewable or abundant sources wherever we can. If we can't find a natural ingredient to get the job done, we'll use a safe, green, man-made version instead. In all cases, we only use ingredients that have passed through a comprehensive green and health screen: ingredients we have confirmed to be totally safe for people and safe for the environment. This is why we are are certified by one of the most recognizable "green" certifications in the world, EcoLogo®.

When it comes to labeling our products, we hold ourselves to a high standard because we believe that a natural cleaner should actually come from nature.

Natureworks EcoLogo® Certification

EcoLogo®

With internationally recognized EcoLogo Certification (an Environment Canada program) Natureworks products are a proud extension of our commitment to providing products of exceptional quality that are safer and healthier choices. Natureworks products will continue to use science to provide solutions that harmonize with nature.

EcoLogo is North America's most widely recognized and respected multi-attribute environmental certification mark.

Canada's "Environmental Choice" EcoLogo® symbol of certification features three stylized doves intertwined to form a maple leaf, representing consumers, industry and government working together to improve Canada's environment. Established in 1988, the program helps consumers identify products and services that are less harmful to the environment.

A product or service may be certified because it is made or offered in a way that improves energy efficiency, reduces hazardous by-products, uses recycled materials or because the product itself can be reused. Product manufacturers, importers or purveyors of services may apply for a license to use the EcoLogo® once a guideline containing criteria relevant to the product or service type has been approved. Environmental Choice guidelines are based on the best information available at the time and are upgraded as new information and technology make higher standards possible. Guidelines are developed in consultation with industry, environmental groups, universities and independent technical and scientific advisors.

Certified products and services must continue to meet all applicable safety and performance standards; specifically, they must be as good in every other respect as is generally expected of that type.

EcoLogo® belongs to the Government of Canada, and is a founding member of the Global Eco Labelling Network.

Toxins in Your Home

About Natureworks

You know that healthy feeling you get when you've just cleaned you home? Sadly, you may have just made things worse!

If you're using typical household cleaners you are likely using dangerous chemicals. Chemicals that aren't just bad for the environment, but incredibly dangerous for you and your family as well.

How dangerous? Just take a look at these statistics.

  • Over 90% of poison exposures happen at home.
  • Common bleach is the #1 household chemical involved in poisoning.
  • Organic pollutants, found in many common cleaners and even air fresheners, are 2 to 5 times higher inside your home than out.
  • A person who spends 15 minutes cleaning scale off shower walls could inhale three times the "acute one-hour exposure limit" for glycol ether-containing products set by the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment.
  • Common cleaners give off fumes that have been linked to increasing the risk of your kids developing asthma, the most common serious chronic childhood disease. 1 in 13 school-aged children has asthma. Rates in children under five have increased more than 160% from 1980 to 1994.
  • Children are highly vulnerable to chemical toxicants. Pound for pound of body weight, children drink more water, eat more food and breathe more air than adults. The implication of this is that children will have substantially heavier exposures than adults to any toxicants that are present in water, food or air.
  • If your home is anything like the average U.S. home, you generate more than 20 pounds of household hazardous waste each year (the EPA designates toilet cleaners, tub and tile cleaners, oven cleaners, and bleach as hazardous waste).

Natureworks Feedback

Here's what others are saying about their experience with Natureworks:

"I work in a machine shop, and we started using Natureworks as part of our "natural" initiative. I cleaned what used to be a white conveyor belt, that had turned black with grease and ink, and within 15 minutes the entire belt was a lot brighter. We've used many different synthetic cleaners; nothing had done more than turn the belt from black to grayish yellow before Natureworks. Simply, the product works and we feel safer using it!"

"There is really only one word to describe this product, amazing! The spray bottles are convenient and the concentrate bottle lets you dilute to whatever strength you need. This makes it extremely economical! It takes the place of most other cleaners needed to clean anything from patio furniture to your motor home; yes, I have used it on both. The results are consistent from item to item, whatever you are cleaning. I hate to scrub things, and I have found that with everything except the most stained items, using Natureworks takes very little elbow grease. Recommending Natureworks to friends and family."

Elen T.

"I have been using Natureworks for several months now. The results have been excellent! With this [EcoLogo®] certification Natureworks is a leader of the non-toxic, earth friendly cleaning products trend that is now beginning. I feel confident using this product in my home knowing it is safe for children and pets and will not damage our ecosystem. In addition it is a heavy duty grease fighter and cleanser that works! The concentrated power of cleaner means one bottle goes a long way and you truly get your money's worth. Try it!"
